Women’s Issues
Do you find yourself struggling, but feel that no one understands? Do you long for more confidence and inner security? Women today face numerous expectations, responsibilities, and challenges. From relationships to parenting, workforce issues to body image, or unique medical concerns, it may seem as if there is no shortage of stressors.
Women can experience environmental, psychological and biological challenges related to gender that have a significant impact on their mental health and well-being. If not addressed properly, these challenges can turn into burdens that often lead to anxiety, depression and a lost sense of self.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), women are more prone to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression than men.
Some common mental health issues experienced by women include:
- Mood related challenges
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Posttraumatic stress
- Postpartum depression
- Borderline personality
- Eating disorder
- Low self-worth
- Self-harming behaviors
Women’s issues can take a serious toll on a woman’s emotional, physical, and mental health. The effects can be mild to extreme, and in many cases, some women are not able to cope with their issues on their own. By seeking out therapy, a woman can feel empowered to overcome an issue she struggles with. And while at times, issues or beliefs are scary, we will be right there with you listening, supporting and encouraging you to get back to a place where you feel at ease.
